Australian challenger telco Tangerine is celebrating being amongst the first telcos to offer high-speed Fixed Wireless nbn® plans to eligible locations across regional Australia from this week.
The telco competitor might be unfamiliar to some, but since it’s launch in 2014 and playful marketing, including the recent campaign of “when your internet gives you lemons, get Tangerine,” and “refreshingly simple internet “, has helped them become one of Australia’s fastest growing telco providers offering Australians simple, straightforward internet and mobile plans with no lock-in contracts.
Now, they’re bringing their simple and affordable high-speed Fixed Wireless plans to the regions in recognition that internet is indispensable in the household budget for regional families – internet is a must have for accessing education, health services, running a home business and overcoming distance .
“Our team at Tangerine is thrilled to be among the first to bring high speed nbn® Fixed Wireless plans to regional areas,” said Andrew Branson, Chief Executive Officer.
“We’re especially pleased to offer our competitive plans to the families and businesses in these communities at a reasonable price. With some of our staff working 100% remotely from beautiful locations such as Mudgee, Ulladulla, and Robe, we truly understand the importance of affordable connectivity that fits within the budget.”
“We are smaller, nimbler, simpler and easier to deal with than other telcos. That’s how we established the company in 2014 when I founded it with my brother Rich (the OTHER Richard Branson) – and that’s so we can move quickly in response to what Australians need, like faster internet at an affordable price, especially in the regions where people rely on technology for so many aspects of home and work.”
Tangerine will offer customers at eligible premises two new nbn® high-speed Fixed Wireless plans: the Fixed Wireless Speedy and the Fixed Wireless SuperSpeedy plans, which will add to our existing Fixed Wireless Value Plus plan.
Locals can keep an eye out for Tangerine’s mascot Peely, who will shortly appear on billboards around the city/town introducing the Tangerine brand of simple internet to the community.
